Hi, I am a brand new convert. I bought a beautiful model 10B with little restoration to be done. I have 2 questions. 1. there is a piece of clear plastic-like material covering the vent under the oven door. Is this to be removed?? 2. Our stove has copper tubing, first one we have seen that is not aluminum. Was this original? I will post pictures soon, Tara

I don't know about the tubing but, that "plastic" you refer to is actually mica glass. Or, it should be. It is supposed to be there, to allow you to see that your stove is lit.

    Hi Tara,

Not sure about the copper tuning either - any "B" owners out there who wanna answer this?

Do you have the Service Manual and Cookbook for your CHAMBERS? Essential tools - especially for those new to CHAMBERS products - they're available from me or Sam the Stoveman.

My Model B has aluminum tubing in it... I almost put copper tubing in when I built the safety system because I had a hard time finding the 3/8" aluminum tube.

Thanks all. Yes, I bought the B manual, very helpfull. I also snagged and original Idle Hour Cookbook in great shape , and cheap. This stove was in a very dry kitchen and is amazing inside and out, or, someone already redid it! It appears original though. I cannot wait to fire it up. I am a great cook and know my Chambers (yet to be named) will take it to a new level. My specialty is cheescake and I cannot wait to bake my first one in the oven. Constant temperature is crucial. This oven was MADE for cheescake!

Hello Tara, welcome to the B's:

It is my duty to inform you that you have been assimilated, that everyone will eventually be assimilated, and that resistance is utterly futile.
